Real Madrid forward forced off injured within 20 minutes against Osasuna

Real Madrid forward Rodrygo returned to the starting line-up with hopes of making a strong impact, but his appearance against Osasuna was cut short.

Early in the match, the forward showed signs of discomfort, which only worsened as play continued. Just 20 minutes into the game, a muscle injury forced him to ask for a substitution, bringing his performance to a halt much sooner than expected.

Ancelotti had placed his confidence in his preferred attacking trio, anticipating a powerful display from his forwards. However, from the start, Rodrygo appeared to struggle physically, and it became evident that he was not fully fit.

Shortly after the kickoff, Rodrygo was seen clutching his right quadriceps, clearly feeling some strain.

Despite briefly receiving treatment on the sidelines and attempting to push through, the pain became unbearable, leading him to signal for a substitution as he collapsed onto the pitch in frustration.

In his place, Brahim Diaz, who had been warming up on the sidelines, quickly prepared to enter the game. The disappointment was written all over Rodrygo’s face as he left the field, visibly frustrated by the timing of yet another injury.

He was immediately attended to on the bench, with ice applied to the injured area, highlighting the severity of his situation.

This injury comes at a crucial time for Real Madrid, as the team had high hopes for Rodrygo’s contribution, particularly in building up their attack in the second half.

Real Madrid’s substitution strategy was also impacted by this early exit. With Rodrygo’s premature withdrawal, they had already used one of their valuable substitution windows, which disrupted their planned lineup and tactical approach.

Later in the game, Eder Militao also suffered an injury that required him to be stretchered off, forcing Real Madrid to dip into their substitution reserves yet again.
