The day after the meeting between Paris Saint-Germain and Atlético de Madrid, the controversy concerning the messages posted by the Ultras Paris Collective continues to swell. The group displayed a tifo and banners supporting Palestine in particular.
While PSG denied having knowledge of this initiative before the match, the CUP was forced to explain itself through a press release published this Thursday evening. « In no case was this tifo intended to convey a message of hatred »informed the Ultras. The message that accompanied it (“War on the ground but peace in the world”) is explicit and is a call for peace between peoples. »,
Bruno Retailleau, Minister of the Interior, thinks that “given the size of the banner, its installation cannot have escaped the club’s vigilance.” The president of the FFF, Philippe Diallo, and the general director of PSG, Victoriano Melero, are also summoned to Place Beauvau this Friday. The CUP, however, assures that it did not need “neither help nor complacency” of PSG.
The CUP is full.
