The scenario is special for Les Gones, which is transcribed by his coach but also by Maxence Caqueret.

Pierre Sage, barely a few dozen minutes after the draw conceded by OL at Hoffenheim (2-2) while Alexandre Lacazette had nevertheless given the Gones the advantage already in added time – in the 93rd -, had well struggling to hide his disappointment after this final equalizer for the locals in the 96th minute. For the coach, it is even “cruel and unacceptable”: “We had managed to manage the scenario as we had expected. We managed to score two minutes from the end and we made this big mistake of restarting and replacement.”

Caqueret: “A big careless mistake”

In question, very mainly, the relaunch of the axial header of Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who would certainly have done better to extend towards the touchline or even to a corner, rather than to return to the entrance to his own area where Umut Tohuncu n I just had to adjust quite quietly. “Conceding a goal after scoring in added time has already happened to us in the league, unfortunately we didn't learn our lesson.” It was at home against Olympique de , Rayan Cherki even taking off his jersey after equalizing at 2-2, but Jonathan Rowe had cooled the atmosphere immediately (2-3).

Less than three days before the derby, Sunday evening at Groupama Stadium against AS Saint-Etienne, the coach congratulates Alexandre Lacazette who was able to find the net, “but we did not know how to manage”: “We We were a minute away from taking three points, we didn't give enough importance to what a victory is. This minute should have been the most important of our lives, but we neglected too many things. Maxence Caqueret also regrets “a big careless mistake”: “When we manage to take the advantage, we must not concede this second goal. We should have been capable of it.” Instead, Lyon must wait at least three weeks to secure their qualification for at least the play-offs.
