A man, suspected of being the perpetrator of the deadly shooting in Poitiers on Thursday October 31, surrendered to the police on Tuesday November 5. He was taken into custody.
A suspect is interviewed by investigators at the Poitiers police station (Vienna), Wednesday November 6. For six days, the man had been on the run and under a search warrant. He ended up going, Tuesday, November 5 afternoon, to the premises of the Paris judicial police. He admitted to being the author of the shooting in Poitiers, which cost the life of a minor. Aged 25, the suspect is from Essonne. In 2022, he was arrested in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), imprisoned for possession of weapons and released in 2023.
According to investigators, the alleged shooter belongs to a Marseille drug trafficking gang: the Yodas. He would have come to Poitiers to set up a permanent deal point in front of a restaurant. Thursday October 31, during Halloween evening, a group of young people gathered in front of the restaurant. At 10:45 p.m., the shooter opened fire, hitting three people. A 15-year-old young man, Anis, died from his injuries.
