FC Bayern Munich achieved the longed-for second win of this Champions League season – but that was a minor matter on Wednesday evening. Jamal Musiala (67th) scored the record champions to a well-deserved 1-0 (0-0) win against Benfica Lisbon, which was, however, overshadowed by several incidents. The kick-off started late due to chaos on the track, and a medical emergency in the south stand caused complete silence in the stadium.
In just the third minute of the game, the emergency doctor had to resuscitate a fan in the south curve of Munich's Allianz Arena. The operation took place at the entrance to block 226 in the middle tier, in the right corner above the south curve. What exactly happened there initially remained unclear.

The supporters then refrained from supporting out of respect and the arena was completely silent until the end. “Due to a medical emergency in the stands, there are currently no fan chants from Bayern supporters,” FC Bayern announced during the first half.
After a good half hour of play, one of the lead singers (capo) made an announcement via microphone in the south curve to inform the fans. All flags were then rolled up and taken out of the block and support from this area was finally stopped. The fan umbrella organization “Club No. 12” wrote on Instagram: “Life is above sport.”

In terms of sport, Musiala secured Bayern's all-important victory, meaning Munich now has six points from four games. This means that the record champions now have a good chance of qualifying directly for the round of 16 of the new Champions League mode.
