Through its “American Night” system, 2 followed the trends resulting from the first counts of the different states of the country. This Wednesday, November 6, at 6:30 a.m. French time, it was time for Laurent Delahousse to hand over the air to his colleague Julien Arnaud, who hosts Telematin. Donald Trump officially elected 47th president of the United States

Donald Trump claimed his victory on the night of November 5 to 6 by giving a speech from his HQ in Florida. The businessman was surrounded by his clan. Leading in the race for the White House against Kamala Harris, the septuagenarian was still missing a few votes from Major Voters to obtain an absolute majority. It was only around noon French time that the Republican candidate officially obtained the 270 votes of Grand Electors. Donald Trump becomes the 47th president of the United States, eight years after his first victory. He will be invested on January 25, 2025.
