Real Madrid has taken a new blow at home. After the uproar in the Clasico, the Royal team all too easily swallowed goals from AC Milan. At halftime, the home team had to endure a flute concert at the Bernabeu. The spirited final offensive was of no avail. 6 out of 12 in the Champions League: is a crisis creeping in on Madrid?

Completely against Carlo Ancelotti’s wishes, the focus had to return to football. Last weekend, Real Madrid’s match in Valencia was postponed due to severe weather in the region. But in the Champions League the show had to go on.
It soon became clear that the weekend of rest did not do Madrid any good. Thiaw actually gave AC Milan – which was surprisingly sharp and courageous at the Bernabeu due to the poor form in Italy – into the lead.
A slight penalty foul on Vincius Junior ensured balance on the scoreboard. The Brazilian vented his frustration over the ‘lost’ Ballon d’Or from the spot.

But then resume sharply and take control of the match? The Royal did not do that.
In fact, at times it seemed to have a mini open door in the back. Tchouameni let his man run and Alvaro Morata was able to simply push the 1-2 bird into the goal.

However, there was no improvement.
Reijnders once again split the Real sea with a long drawn-out one-two. He himself finished it off nicely and once again exposed the opponent’s sore points.
Real did mount a hefty final offensive – including a disallowed volley from Rüdiger. But it was no longer possible to convince the public. Logical too, because the record champion only takes 6 out of 12 in the Champions League.
