After a permanent switch to Rangers failed to materialise, Tillman left Bayern Munich to join PSV in the summer.

And it means he’s now starring in the Champions League.

The Dutch giants took on Girona in their latest clash and Tillman was at the centre of the action.

And although he netted PSV’s second, it was his involvement in the Eindhoven outfit’s opening goal that had fans talking.

It’s certainly not a skill the American was revered for in the year he spent in Glasgow

And the moment had plenty of fans rushing to X to share their surprise at his newly-discovered skill!

One account posted: “Need to watch more of Malik Tillman, seriously impressive start to this game – a fantastic goal and an assist from an absolute launch of a throw-in he’s got.”

Another said: “Didn’t have Malik Tillman down as a long throw merchant.”

One Rangers fan was left ruing the fact he didn’t return to Ibrox on a permanent deal though, saying: “Genuinely heartbreaking seeing how well Malik Tillman is doing at PSV.”

And another fan even compared the attacker’s throw-in skills to a former Premier League cult hero, saying: “Malik Tillman is so complete that he even has Rory Delap’s throw-in.”

Delap’s long thrown made him an icon in English football, regularly assisting goals from the sidelines at Stoke.

But some Girona supporters were left fuming as they felt the 22-year-old’s foot had been on the pitch as he delivered the throw.

A fan posted: “It’s a foul throw-in, someone should send it to the bench so they can complain!”

Another said: “On the throw-in he had his foot completely on the field!!!! OUR???”

The rules, however, state that as long as part of the foot is touching the line, then it’s a legal throw.
