In Liège, strong disruptions in buses

In Liège, at the TEC, anger is brewing at the Robermont depot. Drivers have been crossing their arms since Tuesday afternoon. Nearly 50 lines are impacted. The drivers are demanding that a technical problem that has been affecting the dispatching service for several weeks be resolved quickly. According to the drivers, this communication problem jeopardizes their safety because their managers can no longer be reached and their bus can no longer be located. Drivers point out that this service is nevertheless essential to transmit distress calls in the event of incidents or attacks. Last Thursday a driver was punched in the face and earlier in the week a safety window was smashed.

For its part, management says it is doing everything possible to find a solution to a problem that it takes very seriously. A special number has already been set up so that drivers can quickly contact dispatching in the event of a problem.

For the moment, we do not know how long this mood swing will last.

As a reminder, last January, TEC Liège-Verviers drivers went on strike for several days to demand better safety measures.
