Today it’s all about everything for the Trump clan: Will the head of the family, Donald Trump, become US President for the second time? In Michigen, his children are once again campaigning hard for the Republican candidate. But where is Ivanka?
Some of Donald Trump’s children campaigned for the Republican presidential candidate at his final election rally. Trump’s sons Eric and Don Jr. and daughter Tiffany came on stage in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and were cheered. Also there were Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump and son-in-law Michael Boulos. Trump’s son Barron and daughter Ivanka were missing.
“And Ivanka sits at home and watches every second of this,” Trump said of his daughter, who had conspicuously kept a low profile during the election campaign. Ivanka Trump worked as a close adviser to her father during Trump’s time in the White House. Trump’s son Eric said of his 78-year-old father: “I can tell you that as a son, as a family, we have never been so proud of a person in our lives.”
Trump’s wife Melania also kept a low profile from the start in the current election campaign. She seemed to be promoting her book more than her husband. Many people still remember how the Slovenian-born woman struggled with her role as First Lady during Trump’s first term in the White House and posed many puzzles.
Melania caused astonishment when she took six months before moving into the White House – and during this time she left the role of First Lady to her stepdaughter Ivanka. After the brilliant performances of her predecessor Michelle Obama, this was sobering. It also didn’t help that Melania gave a eulogy for her husband at the Republican party conference the year before – but it was copied from her predecessor of all people.
