“It is total absurdity to say that the meeting between the mayor of Kaolack, Serigne Mboup, and the president of Pastef, in this case Ousmane Sonko, was marked by hiccups,” says Fadilou Keita. This clarification aims to deny rumors reporting serious tensions which would have marred this meeting held in Kaolack, on the sidelines of the fourth day of the campaign.
Fadilou Keita, campaign director of Pastef, also welcomed the commitment of the mayor of Kaolack to their side. “Serigne is a partner, a solid ally who was fully invested during this campaign. He accompanied us to several locations and even put his resources at our disposal to ensure their success. Currently, he has to manage certain emergencies in Kaolack, but he will soon join the caravan,” he said in a telephone interview with SeneNews.

Furthermore, during this meeting, Serigne Mboup affirmed his ideological proximity with Ousmane Sonko. “You always dissuaded me from getting involved in politics. When you started, I decided to follow you. Today, it is natural that I am by your side. Our visions for Senegal converge, and from today, you have our support to move the country forward,” declared Serigne Mboup, testifying to his alignment with the candidate’s social project.
