Donald Trump tipped for voting boost after making ‘astonishing revelation’ in final pitch

Donald Trump’s “astonishing revelation” in his final pitch to North Carolina voters will be popular among voters, GBN America reporter Steve Edginton has claimed.

The Republican candidate has been addressing voters across the country during the final day of campaigning.

Trump, 78, told voters he intends to “immediately impose” a 25 per cent tariff on Mexico if they don’t stop the “invasion” at America’s southern border.

Speaking to Martin Daubney, who branded the announcement “astonishing”, Steve said the news will be well received by Americans who are desperate to see an end to the migrant crisis.

“This seems to be a major new policy from Donald Trump on how he intends to tackle all the illegal people coming in from Mexico and all the guns and drugs”, he said.

“He feels that if he puts this tariff on Mexico, they will send soldiers to their border to properly protect the US border. He is saying that if they don’t do it, he will keep putting the tariff up until Mexico actually does their jobs.

“I think this is an interesting policy from Trump, a bit of 2016 Donald Trump perhaps coming back this campaign.

“It’s interesting he announced this on the last day of the campaign so Kamala Harris couldn’t steal her policy.

“Remember, he was talking about another policy, ‘no tax on tips’ and Kamala seemed to steal that policy early in the campaign.

“I think this will be popular among voters who are concerned about immigration and this is Donald Trump’s final pitch. It is all about immigration, immigration, immigration.”

Steve added that the policy could be received negatively with many aspects of the US economy intertwined with that of Mexico.

“There is a lot of trade between the US and Mexico”, he said.

“Perhaps by putting a 25 per cent tariff on Mexico, this could seriously increase prices for consumers.

“On the other hand, if it does solve the border crisis, perhaps those tariffs will go away.”

Both Trump and Kamala Harris are making their final pitches to voters ahead of polling day tomorrow.

Election officials in key swing states are urging Americans to be patient as they tally votes, with some suggestions that a final result may not be reached for days.
