Jean Stellittano, departmental secretary of Secours Populaire in the Alpes-Maritimes, details this appeal: “We have a lot of volunteers who are linked to Spain or who have friends and family in Valencia and Malaga. We also have a network of partners in Spain to assess needs thanks to the European network ESAN“.

The call for donations relayed on the European Social Action Network Facebook page:

Secours Populaire has already appealed to the generosity of the public as during the earthquake in Morocco in 2023, in Belgium during the floods of 2021 or elsewhere.

When we look at the images, it is reminiscent of what we experienced with storm Alex in 2020 in our department” recalls Jean Stellittano.

This Thursday at the end of the afternoon, the Secours Populaire des Alpes-Maritimes is organizing a large collection dedicated to the Spanish disaster victims at Place Masséna in .

To donate, there is also the association's national website.

The Riviera departmental secretary explains that the structure assesses needs with partner associations on site. “They provide us with quotes and a budget and we then send the money” adds Jean Stellittano.
