Assassination of Samuel Paty: new trial this Monday, that of adults accused of complicity in the death of the professor

Naim Boudaoud et Azim Epsirkanov. The first is a 22-year-old Frenchman, the second a 23-year-old Russian of Chechen origin. They are both suspected of having had precise knowledge of the terrorist project. The day before the incident, they took Anzorov to a cutlery shop to buy a knife identical to the one found near his body. The day of the assassination Boudaoud again accompanied the terrorist to a store to buy an Airsoft gun. Azim Epsirkanov admitted to having received €800 from the terrorist to get him a firearm urgently but without having succeeded. They are being prosecuted for complicity in murder and risk life imprisonment.

There remain four people prosecuted for having participated in an agreement with a view to preparing a terrorist act.

Ismaïl GamaevRussian of Chechen origin, 22 years old, participated with Abdoullakh Anzorov in a Snapchat group exchanging messages with jihadist content. He posted smiling smileys after images of Samuel Paty’s decapitated head were posted on his Snapchat group. According to the prosecution, he would have reinforced Anzorov in his project.

Yusuf CinarTurkish, 22 years old. He also shared a Snapchat group with the attacker that spread jihadist propaganda. After the attack, he was the one who published Abdoullakh Anzorov’s message of protest as well as photos of Samuel Paty’s body. He subsequently posted videos of tributes to the attacker.

Priscilla Mangela 36-year-old Frenchwoman, has already appeared in several anti-terrorism proceedings. She was in touch on Twitter with the killer in the days before the attack. According to the prosecution, she presented Samuel Paty’s course to Anzorov as “an illustration of the war waged by republican institutions against Muslims.” She also would have reinforced Anzorov in his project.

Louqmane Ingar22-year-old Islander. He is accused of having administered the same Snapchat group as Ismaïl Gamaev. He planned, according to the prosecution, to leave for Afghanistan or Syria in order to join a terrorist organization.

The trial is due to end on December 20.
