The start of the 2024 edition of Vendée Globe approach. Sunday November 10, 2024 at 1:02 p.m., they will be 40 skippers and boats to set off from Les Sables d’Olonne (Vendée) for one solo world tour, non-stop and without assistance.

Morbihan will, once again, be well represented during the Vendée Globe. Several skippers based in the department managed to qualify for the round-the-world race. Boats moored at the pontoons La Base will be present on the starting line drawn off the coast of Les Sables d'Olonne.

Based in Morbihan, they will take part in a new Vendée Globe

Based in Lorient, Thomas Ruyant finished at the foot of the podium in the edition contested between the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021. For her part, Locmiquélic sailor Clarisse Crémer had become the most successful woman fast in a Vendée Globe by crossing the finish line in 87 days, 2 hours, 24 minutes and 25 seconds.

They will discover the Vendée Globe

For others, this 2024 edition will be synonymous with their first participation in the Vendée Globe. This will notably be the case of the British Sam Goodchild, at the helm of Vulnerable, a boat previously known as LinkedOut.

Clarisse Crémer's companion, Tanguy Le Turquais will also take part in the event for the first time aboard Lazare. Just like Justine Mettraux with Teamwork – Team SNEF.

Skipper of Paprec-Arkéa, Yoann Richomme is also preparing to discover the Vendée Globe.
