A rave party turns into a nightmare in after the intervention of travelers

On the night of Saturday to Sunday, November 3, fourteen people were injured by travelers while they participated in an illegal rave party in an abandoned hangar, in Brie, south of .

In the middle of the night and while participating in an illegal rave party, dozens of partygoers felt obliged to call the police. At issue: the intervention of around thirty people from the traveling community who, exasperated by the noise of the sound systems, very violently invited themselves to the party. According to “Ouest-”, some of them were “armed”.

Julien Valdenaire, captain and commander of the rescue operations, explained to Agence France-Presse (AFP) that the rave party took place in the immediate vicinity of a Traveler camp and that it had brought together some 4,000 people. The first altercations took place around 8 p.m. and the gypsies mainly attacked festival-goers near the site, as well as parked vehicles. The captain mentions “throws of projectiles” and “stones”, as well as “baseball bats”.

120 firefighters mobilized

These altercations mobilized 120 firefighters, who set up a medical station near the rave, as well as around a hundred police officers. The toll rose to 14 minor injuries, including at least 8 people transported to Rennes University Hospital for wounds and fractures. The music was turned off during the night by the organizers and calm returned in the early morning.
