Frankfurt invites you to the holiday event “Visit in Frankfurt”.

While there is holiday quiet in the southern and western German states on Friday, November 1st, Frankfurt city center will open its doors and invite you to the shopping and adventure event “Visit in Frankfurt”. In collaboration with the IHK Frankfurt, the Hesse Trade Association and the Frankfurt Economic Development Department, the city marketing department has put together a diverse program that combines culture, cuisine and shopping.

Attractive program for visitors from near and far

“Frankfurt is the ideal excursion destination for our neighbors who want to use their day off for shopping and culture. Together with Frankfurt retailers, we have developed a program that makes the city center worth experiencing and offers the first opportunity for Christmas shopping,” explains Stephanie Wüst, head of the economic department. Some of the shops in Frankfurt city center will be open until 10 p.m., giving visitors plenty of time for their shopping tour.

Shop and enjoy in the city center

Numerous participating shops and specialty shops offer special offers and promotions. The MyZeil shopping center offers a particularly wide range that has something for every taste. There are also well-known, owner-managed shops that ensure a varied shopping experience.

Stage program and culinary highlights

Radio FFH presenter Julia Nestle will accompany the event on a central stage at the Hauptwache. From 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. there will be interviews and competitions with attractive prizes. Culinary specialties such as the Frankfurt green sauce bratwurst and fresh waffles are available at the stands, as are various museums that attract visitors on this day with extended opening hours and free entry, such as the MOMEM (Museum Of Modern Electronic ).

A special highlight awaits guests after dark: a larger-than-life, illuminated “Dundu” doll that parades through the city center and delights young and old alike.

Goal: An annual event on November 1st

“We would like to make Frankfurt city center a regular attraction for visitors on November 1st,” says Eduard M. Singer, head of the city marketing department. Joachim Stoll, spokesman for IG CITYhandel, also emphasizes: “We look forward to welcoming guests from the region and neighboring federal states and would like to present Frankfurt as a place of hospitality and diversity.”

A day for strengthening local trade and the cultural economy

The IHK Frankfurt supports the event as an opportunity for retailers, restaurants and cultural workers to show their best side. “We see this holiday event as a win-win situation and hope for a success that will sustainably strengthen Frankfurt’s retail and cultural offerings,” says Alexander Theiss, Managing Director of Location Policy at the IHK Frankfurt.

The complete program is available online under “Visiting Frankfurt – Frankfurt at the Start”.
