Texas A&M WR Terry Bussey unavailable to play vs. Mississippi State, QB Jaylen Henderson designated as out

Update: Texas A&M wide receiver Terry Bussey is unavailable to play against Mississippi State, per the SEC Network broadcast. The Aggies designated Bussey as available in their final availability report Saturday, but he was not cleared after pregame warmups.

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Texas A&M wide receiver Terry Bussey will be available to play against Mississippi State this Saturday, per the final SEC-mandated availability report released 90 minutes before the matchup. Earlier this week, A&M designated Bussey as questionable (50% chance to play).

The No. 14 Aggies (5-1, 3-0 SEC) will look to extend their winning streak to six games when facing the Bulldogs (1-5, 0-3) on the road Saturday, beginning at 3:15 p.m. in Davis Wade Stadium (: SEC Network).

Four A&M players – third-team quarterback Jaylen Hendersoncenter Mark Nabou Jr.running back Reuben Owens II and defensive back Tyreek Chappell – were listed as out for the game on the final availability report.

In their three previous availability reports for the game, the Aggies designated Henderson as doubtful (25% chance to play) for undisclosed reasons. Nabou, Owens and Chappell have long been out of the season with injuries.

For intraleague play this season, SEC football teams are required to publicly disclose initial availability reports three days prior to the game by 7 p.m. CT. That report must be updated on both Thursday and Friday following the conclusion of practice and before 7 p.m. CT. On the day of the game, teams must release a final update no later than 90 minutes before kickoff.

If a player might not be able to participate in a game for any reason (including injury, illness, ineligibility or personal reasons), teams must accurately designate their projected availability status (out, doubtful, questionable or probable) for the first three updates without disclosing why.

The only permissible designation statuses for the game-day update are “Available” (will dress for the game and be available to play), “Game Time Decision” (coaches and/or medical personnel need to evaluate the student-athletes in pre-game warmups before deciding whether he can participate in the game) and “Out” (not dressed or available for the game).

Follow along here during pregame warmups and beyond for real-time updates on the game.
