The folk rock’n’roller describes the song as a homage to meeting special people again after a long time.
“I really wanted to create a song that captured the feeling of nostalgia and joy,” explains Gabalier ahead of the release. “Jukeboxblues” is about the magic of the moment when you meet someone in a familiar environment who gives you a feeling of familiarity. The catchy melodies and dynamic rhythm invite you to surrender to the moment and revive memories.
In the video, Gabalier flirts with images from the legendary videos of the 80s, inspired by the icons of that time. With lines like “The shower of lights in the disco fog only shows the contours of you” and “And then it occurs to me, you can only be her, the little one from the little house in the forest” he conveys a nostalgic longing and the feeling that certain encounters never fade .
The arrangement unfolds into a powerful soundscape that combines both guitar riffs and upbeat beats – perfect for unforgettable moments with friends or loved ones.
