The weather will change suddenly again in the coming days in Lyon. France will experience disrupted weather from this Monday, October 7, 2024 due to the remnants of Tropical Storm Joyce and Hurricane Kirk. From the rain, risk of thunderstorms and strong gusts of wind are announced by Météo-France.
Two ancient tropical systems. Two what? This is a tropical storm and a hurricane that has returned to our latitudes. The remains of these two disturbances will unleash the weather conditions until Saturday October 12. The Rhône department is also placed in yellow vigilance strong winds and thunderstorms this Monday.
Wind at 70 km/h from this Monday in Lyon
The weather conditions will be breathtaking from this Monday, October 7 in Lyon. Strong winds are forecast during the day. Gusts of 60 km/h in the morning then 70 km/h in the evening before calming down to around 50 km/h during the night. Thunderstorms are also possible Monday night.
The most violent winds of around 70 km/h are especially expected in Lyon and the nearby urban area. Elsewhere in the Rhône, gusts will be 45 to 65 km/h, sometimes locally 70 km/h in the north of the department.
Thunderstorms possible during the night from Monday to Tuesday
Météo-France is also forecasting possible storms with showers during the night from Monday to Tuesday in Lyon and throughout the Rhône department.
Thunderstorms also forecast for Tuesday morning (with gusts of up to 60km/h) and in the afternoon in Lyon.
Wind gusts to 90km/h Wednesday
In the middle of the week, the winds will be the most violent this episode of the week. Gusts could reach 90 km/h in Lyon in the evening and night. Strong gusts which will also affect the western sectors of Lyon and the Saône Valley.
Between Thursday and Saturday, rain is forecast every day in the Lyon metropolis before a possible return of good weather and sunshine the following week. In terms of temperatures, the maximums announced between Monday October 7 and Saturday October 12 will be between 17 and 24°C.
