The UFC returned to for the third time in its history, a 14-fight card headlined by Renato Moicano vs. Benoit .

The highly anticipated lightweight main fight ended in a brutal defeat for Benoit Saint Denis. Renato Moicano managed to take the fight to the ground in the opening seconds of the first round and began hitting BSD with a plethora of punches and elbows. Somehow our Frenchman managed to survive the onslaught and get out of the first round. While many expected Moicano to go on the attack early in the second round, that was not the case. On the contrary, the Frenchman was able to mount an attack, while fending off the Brazilian’s takedown attempts. However, at the end of the second round, the doctor was asked to come and check on Saint Denis. After review, the fight was canceled because ‘BSD’ could no longer see. Victory for Moicano.

The French love bonuses

UFC also had Brendan Allen vs Nassourdine Imavov as co-main event. The fight turned out to be a back-and-forth affair. Brendan Allen was able to use his grappling skills to choke out and control the fight in the first round. However, Nassourdine Imavov implemented his sprawl to defend Allen’s takedowns in the second and third rounds and was able to tear the American to pieces in the standing fight. After fifteen minutes of fighting, Imavov was awarded a well-deserved unanimous decision victory by the judges present.

But neither of his two fighters took a bonus!
