Several banners displayed by Nice supporters during the Ligue 1 match against Marseille created controversy. One of them, in particular, deployed by the Ultras Populaire Sud (the former Brigade Sud, dissolved in 2010), and on which was written: “The sun sets over the city of Nice… let the rat hunt begin”provoked a reaction from the mayor of Marseille, Benoît Payan.
