Gary Neville sends clear message to Man United about swapping Alejandro Garnacho for Christopher Nkunku with Chelsea

Gary Neville has just made his feelings very clear about Manchester United swapping Alejandro Garnacho and Christopher Nkunku.

Earlier this week, reports suggested United and Chelsea had discussed a swap deal of Garnacho for Nkunku as the West London club look to bring the Argentine to the capital.

Chelsea are set to bid for Garnacho but before offering a straight cash deal, the Blues have asked about the possibility of a player exchange.

But Neville has a clear idea about what he thinks the Red Devils should do with Garnacho and his thoughts on the possibility of Nkunku pulling on a United shirt.

Gary Neville can’t understand Christopher Nkunku and Alejandro Garnacho

Gary Neville has warned Manchester United against swapping Alejandro Garnacho for Christopher Nkunku and claims it only makes sense for Chelsea.

The former Man United defender is keen for Garnacho to remain at Old Trafford unless the club can get good money for him.

Garnacho has grown frustrated with life at Man United having struggled to cement his spot in Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3 system at Old Trafford.

Neville told NBC Sport: “I don’t get it for United. Nkunku’s hardly kicked a ball, he’s had the injury when he first came and struggled to get going at Chelsea.

“I’m not saying Garnacho is the best player in the world, he needs to stay at Manchester United, but if they get good money for him that might work.

“But to swap him for Nkunku, I would have to say that isn’t a move I would do if I was Manchester United. I can see why you would do it if you were Chelsea.”

How does Christopher Nkunku compare to Alejandro Garnacho?

Comparing Nkunku’s stats to Garnacho’s is tricky as the Frenchman has played very few minutes compared to the United forward.

Although the Chelsea man does top Garnacho in most attacking statistics per 90 minutes, it’s clear this would not be a significant upgrade on what they already have for either side.
