Malick Fofana, who came off during the draw against Fenerbahçe in midweek, will miss Olympique Lyonnais’ visit to face FC Nantes.
The Belgian came off in the first half for Lyon due to a hip injury and whilst he was feeling better on Friday, he has not sufficiently recovered to face Nantes. However, his absence is not expected to be a long one. It is good news for Pierre Sage, who should be able to rely on Fofana again from next week.
Meanwhile, there is a place in the squad for Ainsley Maitland-Niles. He was ill during the week and so missed the trip to Turkey. Thiago Almada (ineligible) and Nicolas Tagliafico also missed out on that game for Lyon but could feature against Nantes. Almada may need to wait a little longer before making his first start for his new club.
