Artistic comment

French comedy written by Daive Cohen, The happy elected is the second feature film directed by Frank Bellocq, best known as a screenwriter and actor. This order film, proposed by Daive Cohen and Daniel Tordjman, was written for the humorist Camille Lellouche, who plays Fiona, a young woman in the outskirt Palm de Marrakech. This ultra tourist establishment, which distills a damn biased vision of the country, constitutes the nearly place where the action takes place. The cast brings together pros at the comedy, Michèle Laroque and Gérard Darmon, who embody, with their usual comic style, the wealthy parents of Benoît, an unscrupulous young man, played by Lionel Erdogan, who tries to make them believe that Fiona is his promise. This comedy, which is displayed as a family, works on classic comic springs, in particular the improbable duo, the deceptive appearances and the humor under the belt, but the cocktail very quickly reveals the limits of this laborious and vulgar burlesque. It is a shame for Camille Lellouche who, with her experience in the scene, is engaged in some small, quite effective hilarious numbers. But despite his performance which attests to the extent of his talents, the comedy The happy elected Suffering from its accumulation of shots, muddy situations and stereotypical characters (rich parents, greedy children). The final conclusion on the victory of capitalist logic is not very reassuring concerning the social-political content of this comedy with gags without finesse which would like to be contemporary. The shock of the classes, supposed to arouse hilarity, singularly lacks finesse and should not trigger the enthusiasm of the followers of good taste, even by accepting the idea of an iconoclastic description. A caricatured comedy without any elegance.
