This seventh day of the Europa League play-off phase was definitely marked by violence between supporters. While three Real Sociedad fans were stabbed near the Stadio Olimpico before the match against Lazio, those of Manchester United and Rangers also clashed in the Mancunian streets.

The Sun explains that a large number of supporters of both teams fought on Great Ancoats Street, just over four miles from Old Trafford. On either side of the street, the two groups threw bottles and various projectiles at each other, under the eyes of the police, who managed to intervene and made arrests.
