Marc Degryse soon makes clear what he thinks of the choice for Rudi Garcia and already sees big problem – football news

Marc Degryse is not wildly enthusiastic about the appointment of Rudi Garcia as the national coach of Belgium. “This is not the trainer I expected,” says Degryse in HLN, who is surprised about the choice for the 60-year-old Frenchman.

Degryse was surprised by the decision to appoint Garcia, especially since he expected someone else to come out of the shortlist. “I thought none of the leaked names would be the final national coach. But that someone else would be tagged out of the hat.”

Although Garcia has experience at various large clubs, he does not have an impressive prize cabinet according to Degryse. “His last trophy dates back to more than fifteen years ago, when he took the double with Eden Hazard at ,” Degryse notes. “If you choose a foreigner, it must be a big name. And he’s not.”

Degryse also points out that Garcia’s recent coaching career was not exactly successful. “His most recent passages were short and were characterized by conflicts,” says Degryse.

“He left Napoli after a few months, and had a fight with star player Osimhen. The same happened in Saudi Arabia with Cristiano Ronaldo. He dares to clash with his best players, and that doesn’t seem to me to be the intention with the Red Devils.”

Finally, Degryse has doubts about Garcia’s capacities such as People Manager. “Garcia has a certain status and will stand for discipline, but whether he is a real people manager, I have my doubts about that,” said Degryse. “Let us hope he succeeds in bringing back the enthusiasm to play for the Red Devils.”
