A fire broke out in Kaiseraugst on Thursday morning, causing heavy smoke. Images from eyewitnesses 20 minutes published show a dark column of smoke that can be seen for kilometers. The fire is believed to have broken out on the premises of a recycling company. The Aargau cantonal police confirmed a corresponding operation in which several incident services were deployed. A statement on this will follow later in the day, according to a spokesman.
“Close windows and doors and turn off ventilation and air conditioning,” warn authorities via Alertswiss. The affected area stretches from Rheinfelden to Pratteln.
