In the casting, we find Naomi Watts (Emmanuelle, Divergent) in the role of Betty, while Laura Harring plays the character of the injured woman.

A film as much appreciated by critics as by the public

Originally, Mulholland drive had been imagined as the pilot of a new series for ABC. However, the American channel did not like the result at all. ABC was also convinced that Naomi Watts et Laura Harringthen aged 31 and 35 respectively, were too old to become stars of the small screen. The American channel therefore canceled the project.

It's thanks to a friend of David Lynchwho suggested he make a film about it, that Mulholland drive finally saw the light of day. For this, the filmmaker, however, shot around half an hour of additional scenes. In the end, Mulholland drive found its audience since the thriller made nearly 460 000 entrées in theaters and was awarded the César for best foreign film in 2002.
