After the next away flop, FC Bayern Munich has to fear more than ever an annoying and dangerous extra round in the fight for a place in the round of 16 in the Champions League.

The 3-0 defeat at Feyenoord Rotterdam, currently fourth in the Dutch league, was a strong cold shower for coach Vincent Kompany’s star ensemble after three wins to start the new year in the Bundesliga.
After all, the final in Munich is the goal in 2025. Even with a home win on the last matchday in a week against Slovan Bratislava, Bayern are unlikely to make it into the top 8 given the current table configuration. In February there is a risk of an extra knockout round in the fight for the round of 16.
Gimenez scores, Bijlow saves everything
The Mexican international Santiago Giminez was the man of the evening at “De Kuip” with his two powerful goals from the edge of the penalty area (21st minute) and from the penalty spot (45th + 9). The other was Justin Bijlow.

-The Feyenoord goalkeeper not only made striker Harry Kane despair in the 50th premier class game. The 27-year-old saved almost everything in front of over 50,000 spectators – and was lucky that substitute Leroy Sané shot onto the post (70th). Ayase Ueda added the goal for the hosts in the 88th minute.
ManCity risks elimination
The English champions Manchester City are threatened with an early exit from the Champions League. Despite a 2-0 lead, coach Pep Guardiola’s team lost the top game at Paris Saint-Germain 2-4 and can therefore only make it into the play-offs for the round of 16.

Although Guardiola’s team actually seemed to be on track after the double strike from Jack Grealish (50th) and Erling Haaland (53rd), everything turned out differently. Just seven minutes later it was a draw again after goals from Ousmane Dembélé (56th) and Bradley Barcola (60th). Afterwards the guests wobbled. João Neves (78th) and Gonçalo Ramos (90th + 6) made the crazy comeback and victory clear.
Milan clubs on the road to success
Meanwhile, the two Milan clubs Inter and Milan had reason to be happy. Inter won 1-0 away at Sparta Prague, with Lautaro Martinez scoring the goal of the day with a beautiful volley from a tight angle (12th). City rivals Milan also won against Girona 1-0, with Rafa Leao becoming the match winner with a goal in the 37th minute.
