A microlight crashed into the roof of a chalet this Tuesday, January 21 in Méribel-Les Allues (Savoie). The accident caused the death of two people and left 12 victims in total. An investigation was opened to determine the circumstances of the accident.
This Tuesday, January 21, a tourist plane crashed into the roof of an unoccupied chalet in Méribel-Les Allues.
According to information from Dauphiné Libéréthe two individuals present on the plane, aged 26 and 58, died. According to initial reports, a collision with two tandem paragliders could have taken place just before.
The evacuation of the two victims was “problematic given the weakening of the roof”, said Benoît Bachelet, public prosecutor.

“I heard a plane go by. Looking up at the sky, I saw a ski falling, then the paragliders who landed in some trees,” indicates a resident of Méribel at Dauphiné Libéré.
-Significant emergency resources were deployed to the scene. The precise circumstances of the accident remain, for the moment, unknown and may be determined as part of a judicial investigation.
In total, 12 victims were reported in this accident. Nearly 50 firefighters and 30 engines were on site.
