HOUSTON – This week’s snowfall has many thinking back about the last time that we saw snow in Houston.
It has been a while since we’ve seen anything other than trace amounts of snow.
When was the last time it snowed in Houston?

Before this week, Houston most recently saw snow during the February 2021 freeze.
One inch fell in Houston on February 15, 2021, when the cold weather crippled the Texas power grid.

The snowfall in the Houston area is starting to come to an end, and we are beginning to get an idea of just how much snow has fallen across our area. FOX 26 meteorologist John Dawson takes a look at how much snow fell in Houston.
The National Weather Service says most of the Houston area saw two to four inches of snow.
There is a band of snow where people saw a bit more, with three to four inches falling.
-Some isolated spots saw more snow, with Baytown reporting 5.5 inches!

We will have to wait for our official totals to see where this week’s snowstorm ranks among the most snow we have ever seen in the Houston area.
