A fire broke out in a hotel in Kartalkaya Ski Resort, one of Turkey's important tourism centers. Fenerbahçe announced that swimming branch athlete Vedia Nil Apak and her mother Ferda Apak passed away in a fire that broke out in a hotel in Bolu.

The fact that the hotel was made of wood increased the scale of the disaster
Bolu Governor Abdulaziz Aydın and Bolu Municipality Tanju Özcan came to the region and followed the extinguishing efforts at the scene. AFAD, UMKE, fire brigade and many medical teams are ready in the region. While the fact that most of the hotel was made of wood increased the size of the disaster, a field hospital was established in the region. Gendarmerie teams are also ready in the region. The fact that part of the hotel is a cliff makes it difficult to intervene in the flames.

Explaining the latest situation regarding the fire, Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya said, “We are in great pain as a nation. Unfortunately, we lost 66 lives and 51 injured in the fire. Since the back of the hotel is a slope, the intervention was carried out from the front and side facades. A judicial investigation has been launched.” he said.
