“Customers were only allowed to drink coffee”: hospital visitors are shocked after the sudden closure of the Lunch Garden restaurant at Imelda in Bonheiden

“At 9 o’clock the people of Lunch Garden were informed that they had to close immediately,” says Gaby Aerts, who volunteers to help visitors to the Imelda Hospital.

“People who were inside were still allowed to drink their coffee, but no new customers were allowed in. The shop next door also belongs to Lunch Garden, so visitors are now somewhat lost. They are literally and figuratively left hungry.”
