This Monday, January 20, 2025, shortly after 2:30 p.m., the convoy carrying President Emmanuel Macron arrived at the military site of Cesson-Sévigné, in the Leschi district more precisely; it notably houses the Land Digital and Cyber Support Command (CATNC). The President of the Republic must, on the occasion of this visit, present his best wishes to the armed forces.
A little more than 300 police officers and gendarmes were deployed on the route linking the airport to the Cesson military enclosure, to secure the passage of the convoy. Vehicle traffic and parking, as well as the comings and goings of pedestrians, are strictly regulated until 8:30 p.m. all around the military site.
The presidential convoy rushed into the communications school without incident. Some opponents of his arrival had gathered earlier at 12:30 p.m. at Place de la République in Rennes, on the initiative of the FO union. “We had planned to stay in town, in any case, we were neither invited nor welcome for these wishes, it is above all a question of marking the occasion”, indicated the secretary Force Ouvrière of Ille-et-Vilaine Fabrice Lerestif, still mobilized against pension reform.
