Klemens Haselsteiner, the CEO of the construction group Strabag, died unexpectedly at the age of 44. The company informed “with great shock” of the “sudden and unexpected” death.
At the time of his death, Haselsteiner was in the private clinic “Die Schrothkur” in Obervellach in Carinthia, Austria, where he was undergoing a fasting cure, as “Focus” writes.
According to Dr. Rainer Schroth, the family’s long-time doctor, Haselsteiner suffered an aneurysm that was so serious that medical help was no longer possible. “From a medical point of view, we had no chance,” Schroth told the Austrian newspaper “Kleine Zeitung”. “Any help comes too late.” An aneurysm is an enlargement of the blood vessels.
-Haselsteiner was a central figure in the company Strabag SE, which he has led as CEO since January 1, 2023 and which is one of the largest construction groups in Europe. He leaves behind a wife and three children. The deceased was one of four sons of the building contractor Hans Peter Haselsteiner (80). His previous tasks will now be temporarily taken over by the other board members, as the company announced.
