First, an extremely confident win against the tournament sensation, Eva Lys, 6:0, 6:1and then a difficult task. Iga Świątek started the match in the 1/8 finals of the Australian Open several dozen minutes after her potential rivals, but she defeated the German when they were just starting the third set. This fight promised to be extremely interesting and it was!

After all, Emma Navarro and Daria Kasatkina are the eighth and tenth players in the WTA ranking, respectively, which made it difficult to choose the favorite of their competition. Especially since the American and the Russian have not played together before.

It seemed that we had an extremely tight match ahead of us, but it quickly turned out that Navarro had a dream start. She started by winning her serve without losing a point, after a while, after a fight on the advantage, she broke, and then she followed the blow and after a quarter of an hour she was leading 3-0!

When the American made another break, it seemed that it might be a quick set in her favor, but in a moment Daria Kasatkina responded the same way, won her serve, broke again and, despite a terrible start, she lost only 3:4. However, at the end of the game, Navarro proved her advantage and ultimately won 6:4.

What could we expect from such a set? Absolutely everything and again there was no shortage of great emotions. This time, Kasatkina had a better start, she immediately broke her opponent, only to… quickly lose her advantage. After 26 minutes of play in the second set, the score was 3:3, and everything was to be decided by the next games.

Then it seemed that the Russian had the better moment in the match, she was the one who led to the break, but again she wasted the opportunity, lost the advantage and soon served at 4:5.

Kasatkina was under enormous pressure, this time she couldn't lose her serve, but again she had big problems, and Navarro led to an advantage play. However, the Russian managed to cope at this point, and then she won her opponent's serve and after winning 7:5, she took the third set! And for this to happen, she had to save four match points.

The third set of this match also did not disappoint the fans. And again, Kasatkina did better at the beginning of the game. Although she lost on her own serve, she responded with two breaks and served at 3:2.
