Keon Ellis injury status and update ahead of Kings’ game against Washington Wizards

After a disappointing 13-19 start to the season, the Sacramento Kings are good again – winning eight of their last nine games (putting them at 21-20 overall. Now, they host the Washington Wizards, a team who, at 6-34 and 15th in the Eastern Conference, should give them a good chance to win yet another game.

But who will the Kings have available for their Sunday night clash? Who will the Wizards have? Here is the full injury report ahead of tonight’s game.

Sacramento Kings Injury Report

After an unlucky start to the season, the Kings have, for the most part, managed to stay healthy since then. However, tonight is the rare exception to the rule, as the team has three players listed on their injury report.

As the headline suggests, the biggest name on the Kings’ injury report heading into this game is Keon Ellis. We’ve long praised Ellis for his underrated impact, and his two-way ability has played a huge role in reviving the Kings’ season.

Unfortunately, Ellis left the Kings’ win over the Houston Rockets with an ankle injury that limited him to just 11 minutes in the game. He practiced on Saturday, but heis still listed as questionable for tonight’s game against the Wizards. As a general rule, when a player is listed as questionable, it means they have a roughly 50/50 chance of playing in the game.

Unlike Ellis, rookie Devin Carter did not practice on Saturday, and he definitely will not play tonight, as he is listed as out with a wrist injury. Hopefully, this is just a one game thing and not anything serious. Carter has already had to miss 34 of the team’s 41 games after having offseason shoulder surgery.

Jordan McLaughlin missed Thursday’s game due to personal reasons. According to FantasyPros, he will be good to go against the Wizards.

Washington Wizards

Like the Kings, the Wizards have three names listed on their injury report. The obvious one is Saddiq Bey, who, after tearing his tearing his ACL last season, has been on the injury report every single game this year. There is no timetable for his return at this point.

There has not been an official injury update for Marvin Bagley III and Malcolm Brogdon, but neither of them played in yesterday’s game against the Golden State Warriors. Considering this is the second leg of a back-to-back, it is unlikely that much has changed with their health. So, as of now, expect them both not to play in this game.

After this game, the Kings have another home game. This one will be against the Warriors on Wednesday, January 22.
