President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance participated in a wreath-laying ceremony Sunday at Arlington National Cemetery.

Trump appeared solemn as he placed a wreath on an easel at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Moments later, Vance did the same.

Once the ceremony was complete, Trump’s motorcade headed to a separate section of the cemetery, a burial site for military personnel killed while fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Trump is set to hold a campaign-style “Make America Great Again” victory rally at Capital One Arena this evening.

The president-elect is back in Washington to kick off days of pageantry heralding his second inauguration.

In August, Trump’s campaign was involved in an altercation with an official at Arlington National Cemetery.

The cemetery official was “abruptly pushed aside” during the altercation with Trump’s staff during a wreath-laying ceremony but declined to press charges. A statement from an Army spokesman said the cemetery employee was trying to ensure those participating in the ceremony were following the rules.

The incident was reported to the police, but the employee decided not to press charges. The Army said it considered the matter closed.
