Thorgan Hazard has been waiting for his first start for a few weeks now. Against Kortrijk, it was not yet great Hazard, but it was at least decisive.
Thorgan Hazard made the most of the only dangerous direct free kick given to him: his strike broke the deadlock for the Mauves… and made us forget a little that until then, he was playing a fairly catastrophic match. In intention, however, he was all out, even bitching about Sardella who missed a simple pass to his destination.
“Thorgan has made physical progress and he wants to give everything every minute he gets,” rejoiced David Hubert. “We must help him to evolve in the best possible conditions to regain his best level.”
Hubert and Hazard on the same wavelength
Aligned on the right at kick-off, Hazard switched around a lot and found his habits, namely taking a lot of liberties on the field. “The coach knows that I am not going to stay along the touchline and that I am going to look for spaces,” Thorgan smiled after the match on this subject. “We will still have to find the necessary organization.”
-Hubert, however, prefers wingers who hold their position. So, is he going to have a Hazard “problem”? “It’s true that Thorgan will look for spaces, we know him, he knows himself. Against a low block, he will tend to go where there are spaces. Everyone knows that,” admits the coach of the RSCA.
“We’ve already talked about it together… They’re interesting discussions (laughs). But if he can help the team in that way, no problem. Even if, of course, he also has to respect the tactical framework for it to work”, concludes David Hubert.
