LECCE – In the context of control activities against tax evasioni Financiers of the Otranto and Maglie Companies they identified three companies completely unknown to the tax authorities, located respectively in Otranto, Casarano and Gallipoli. The checks, conducted in the first days of the new year through risk analyses, monitoring of the area and preliminary findings, made it possible to unmask a series of irregularities.
The activities involved include a mechanical repair shop run by a retired former mechanic, a fish and shellfish trade and a clothing retailer. The situation of the active workshop was particularly serious in the garage of the owner’s home without the necessary authorizations. For this reason, the equipment present was subjected to administrative seizure.
During the checks, the Fiamme Gialle found extra-accounting documentation, commonly known as “documents in black”, which allowed us to reconstruct the income never declared to the tax authorities. Thanks also to the use of the databases supplied to the Corps, it was possible to estimate approximately 700 thousand euros in revenues subtracted from taxation.
-“Countering tax evasion is essential to promote a balanced economic recovery and greater contribution equity among citizens“, underlined those responsible for the operation, recalling that the guiding principle remains that of “pay everyone to pay less”.
The operations will continue to ascertain any further responsibilities and guarantee the recovery of the evaded sums, contributing to the support of public coffers and the fight against fiscal inequalities.
