All state offices will be closed on Tuesday “due to extreme winter weather,” according to a social media post on Friday from Louisiana State Civil Service, the agency that acts as the human resources department for state employees.

State offices across Louisiana will be closed on Jan. 21, according to a notice sent by Commissioner of Administration Taylor Barras.

The closure “applies to all non-essential employees including those authorized to work from home,” according to the commissioner’s announcement, which said agency heads will determine which essential personnel are needed to remain on duty during the closure.
