The 23-year-old from Berne leads the Austrian Vincent Kriechmayr by a tenth of a second. Third is also Swiss. Marco Odermatt has to cope with disappointment.
(sda) The Swiss speed riders also performed well in the Super-G in Wengen. Franjo von Allmen is on the way to his first World Cup victory, Stefan Rogentin is in third place in the intermediate rankings.

Von Allmen has already been close to the premiere twice this winter. In the last two downhill runs he finished second behind his teammates; in Val Gardena behind Marco Odermatt, in Bormio behind Alexis Monney. In the Super-G, Von Allmen previously made it into the top three; Almost a year ago in Garmisch he finished third.
-Von Allmen was closest in time to Vincent Kriechmayr. The Austrian missed the first win of the season for a Ski Austria athlete by a tenth of a second. Rogentin continued his improvement in results in the Super-G this winter. In his previous record he had ranks 26 in Beaver Creek, 5 in Val Gardena and 4 in Bormio.
That Rogentin would do this could not necessarily be expected given his history. The Graubünden man fell in the first training session for Saturday’s downhill run, took a break the next day and was still feeling the after-effects of pain in his back and ankles even in the Super-G.
Rogentin had already been to an award ceremony in Wengen after a Super-G. Two years ago he took second place. He has been at the top of the World Cup once so far. Last March at the final in Saalbach-Hinterglemm, he won the Super-G ahead of his teammates Loïc Meillard and Arnaud Boisset.
Things didn’t go as expected in Marco Odermatt’s fourth Super-G of the winter. The Nidwaldner takes 7th place in the interim rankings. As the fourth Swiss in the top ten, Monney is in 9th place.
