The Venetians were purchased by the Presidio Investors fund. For the first time, foreign properties are in the majority compared to Italian ones. Eight American ones
Let’s start with the news. Verona has now become American, purchased by the investment fund Presidio Investors. The former owner, Maurizio Setti, will remain in the company as a director. The executive president, however, will be former Roma CEO Italo Zanzi. But that’s not all. From today, with the acquisition of Verona by a foreign fund, there are eleven foreign properties in the Serie A championship. For the first time in history, there are more than there are Italian presidents.

The deduction comes by itself. Ironically, one could say that the flags of the past no longer exist: the same applies to footballers as much as to properties. Forget the Berlusconi, the Moratti or the Sensi. Today there are RedBird, Oaktree and Friedkin. Another world. But then again in the blender of football business everything changes at the speed of light.
foreign properties

-Italy was involved in the phenomenon about ten years ago. In Rome we went from Pallotta to Friedkin, at Milan from Elliot to Red Bird, at Inter from Thohir, to Suning up to Oaktree. Overall, a nice ride. Always of a foreign brand. Then it was Saputo’s turn in Bologna (at the time supported by Tacopina, now number one at Spal), then Commisso in Florence, Krause in Parma, Hartono in Como and Niederauer in Venice. The last to become foreign, before Verona, were Atalanta, who sold 55% of the shares to a group of investors led by Stephen Pagliuca, and Genoa first with 777 Partners and now with the Romanian Dan Sucu. The globe of ownership in Serie A is also curious. The USA dominates with 8 teams (Fiorentina, Inter, Atalanta, Milan, Parma, Bologna, Venice and Verona), then Romania (Genoa) and Indonesia (Como). .
