Gregorio Spigno
January 15, 2025 (changed at 10.49pm) – MILANO
Two clues prove it. Bologna confirms itself as a damned complicated opponent for Simone Inzaghi’s Inter. Between the Nerazzurri and the Scudetto race there are still the Rossoblù: at San Siro a match played better by the Italiano team ends 2-2, who breaks the deadlock with “little Lautaro” Castro, and is put back together by the centers of Dumfries and the original Lautaro (which was unblocked after almost two and a half months of home starvation) and resumed it with Holm’s goal in the second half. The Nerazzurri’s state of mind can be read in the gestures and facial expressions of Inzaghi, who was particularly agitated from start to finish, in the once again lackluster performance of Asllani, and in the irrelevant entry into the match of the disgruntled Frattesi. No, the recovery taboo against Bologna is not overcome today either.
in silence

The climate of San Siro is surreal. Certainly not because of the frost, but because of the strike on the Curva Nord: no banners, no flags, zero chants. A silence of protest due to the club’s policy regarding the sale of away tickets. Without the heart of their fans, Inter seem lost and Bologna takes the stage. First Sommer – not perfect – saves himself with the help of the post following a shot from outside by Moro, then it is once again the Croatian midfielder who propitiates the rossoblù’s advantage which arrives in the quarter of an hour, at the end of an action which is a photocopy of the first opportunity: another attempt from the edge which this time is fouled by “Lautarito” Castro. The little Toro, on the wish list of Marotta and his associates, puts his foot in, fouls in goal and confirms the good opinion that the Nerazzurri management has of him. Bologna’s advantage, however, is an illusion. A few minutes pass and the Nerazzurri defense becomes the protagonist again. The Inter draw is a flash already seen no later than last Sunday in Venice, with the tap-in rebound this time coming from Dumfries: Bastoni recovers high on Odgaard and launches Thuram who heels for Dimarco. Strong left-footed, Skorupski saves but leaves it there and the Dutchman finds the 4th center of his season which corresponds to the 14th by a Nerazzurri defender, more than any other team in Europe. Inter grows and comes close to an immediate turnaround with Dumfries, Dimarco and Lautaro. But Toro’s moment arrives almost at the end of time, after a decisive intervention by Sommer on Odgaard. Zielinski paints a wonderful stroke for Dimarco who goes into the middle from Toro who scratches and breaks an almost two and a half month long home fast (last center at San Siro on November 3 against Venezia).

rossoblù recovery
—
The feeling from the first minutes is that the all-out pressing designed by Vincenzo Italiano will pay off sooner or later, despite the Inter corner coming back to make itself felt after 45′ of silence. The two-faced protagonist is still Dimarco: first he comes close to making it 3-1 from a free kick, then he misses a cross that lands without any particular demands on the feet of Orsolini, who sees Holm’s shot and rewards him. Strong shot, double deflection by Bastoni and Darmian and 2-2. Inzaghi tries to change but Bologna’s hook hits hard. The disgruntled Frattesi enters, an Asllani exits, still not in the evening. Continue to build the Italiano team better. Taremi only comes close in front of goal and the clock becomes Inter’s enemy. Who constructs as confusedly as his coach’s substitutions are confusing and in the end, perhaps, he even has little to complain about. The opportunity is wasted, Conte’s Napoli is smiling and now, with one game more, they are 3 points ahead of the Nerazzurri. The next stoppage time against Fiorentina, however, Inzaghi won’t be able to miss.
