Thorsten Fink: “Redeem your European ticket as quickly as possible”
For KRC Genk, the Croky Cup is clearly not an afterthought. Coach Thorsten Fink already dreams of the European ticket that is linked to a cup win. “We want to capitalize on that as quickly as possible,” he said today at the press moment in the run-up to the first semi-final.
“We would love to add a sixth cup to our trophy cabinet. Winning a cup final is so special. I have already experienced it twice as a trainer. It would be fantastic to be able to experience this with Genk as well.”
But Fink is certainly on his guard, because with Club Brugge there is no easy job ahead. “There are never easy matches in a semi-final.”
“We know that Club Brugge has an excellent team. It is a team with many qualities, both offensively and defensively,” he praised.
“They last lost on October 22, on the field of AC Milan. That says enough. But nevertheless we believe in our qualities.”
