His beginnings were in his native Costa Rica, where he won five titles with Saprissa, one of the greats of that country, and achieved a creditable third place in the 2005 Club World Cup. This performance earned him the transfer to Albacete, where he began his European career. From there he moved to Levante and it was his tremendous presence in the 2014 World Cup, where he fought for the Golden Glove against Manuel Neuer, that catapulted him to wear the Real Madrid jersey, as San Lorenzo Primero points out.
In the White House he got tired of winning: three UEFA Champions Leagues and four Club World Cups, among other awards. Then, he shared a squad with Leo Messi at Paris Saint-Germain and had a brief loan spell at Nottingham Forest.
