14:13 CET – Tommy Paul (27) battled from a set down against veteran Kei Nishikori (35) to clinch a 6-7(3), 6-0, 6-3, 6-1. The American will fancy his chances of going on a deep run this tournament on his quarter of the draw.

14:02 CET – Jack Draper (23) has won an absolute epic in Melbourne, defeating home favourite Thanasi Kokkinakis (28) 6-7(3), 6-3, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 in four hours and 36 minutes. It was a typically raucous atmosphere, but the Aussie fans will be going home disappointed after seeing their man be dumped out.

Big credit has to go to Draper, who showed remarkable character to battle from 3-5 down in the fourth set to claim the win and move into the third round of this tournament for the first time ever.

13:06 CET – Alexander Zverev (27) and Paula Badosa (27) both claimed straightforward victories in Melbourne to ease through, while British player Jacob Fernley (23) claimed the biggest win of his career, defeating Arthur Cazaux (22) 3-6, 7-5, 6-2, 6-3 to reach the third round at a Grand Slam for the first time ever.

12:28 CET – Donna Vekic (28) survived a little bit of a scare from Brit Harriet Dart (28) to eventually seal a 4-6, 6-0, 6-2 win and move into the next round. She will take on Diana Shnaider (20) next in a really intriguing encounter.

08:53 CET – 12th seed Diana Shnaider (20) has battled her way into the third round with a 6-4, 7-5 win over home favourite Ajla Tomljanovic (31); it’s the first time that the Russian has made it into the third round down under.

There’s been a bit of a lull in play on the outdoor courts due to rain, but Coco Gauff (20) is about to begin her clash with Jodie Burrage (25) on Rod Laver Arena.

07:23 CET – It wasn’t a vintage performance but Novak Djokovic (37) is through to the next round. The Serb lost a set as he did in his first match but ultimately beat Jaime Faria (21) 6-1, 6-7, 6-3, 6-2.

05:06 CET – Tomas Machac (24) beats out Reilly Opelka (27) in five sets 3-6, 7-6, 6-7, 7-6, 6-4 after the night’s most intense match. Opelka put up a whopping 40 aces to Machac’s 14 but ultimately falls short of the upset after 14 double faults.

04:44 CET – Carlos Alcaraz (21) just made quick work of Yoshihito Nishioka (29), beating him 6-0, 6-1, 6-4 in 81 minutes as he moves closer to becoming the youngest player ever to complete a career Grand Slam. Alcaraz had 14 aces to Nishioka’s two.
