The hegemony of PSG version QSI over Ligue 1 does not please everyone. This is the case of John Textor, who has been very virulent in recent days. Loïc Tanzi understands a little of the fears of the OL boss and is already warning the ambitious Paris FC.
Does Paris Saint-Germain have a positive influence on the development of Ligue 1? John Textor says no. The American owner of OL has entered into a crusade against the Parisian club, which he explicitly accuses of ruling French football. According to him, PSG puts pressure on Vincent Labrune concerning major decisions of the LFP, as during the summer soap opera of TV rights which pitted Textor against Nasser Al-Khelaifi. The boss of Les Gones also sees the hand of Qatar in the sanctions taken by the DNCG against the Rhone club.
PSG will be ruthless with Paris FC
If some observers were shocked by Textor's speech, who notably described Vincent Labrune as “ all of them », others like Loïc Tanzi find it legitimate. The journalist of The Team refuses to attribute all the current ills of Ligue 1 to the Parisian club but he nevertheless believes that PSG sabotages its national competition whenever it can. Despite the strong ties between the Arnault family and Qatar, Paris FC will have to remain on guard in the event of promotion to Ligue 1.
« I think that PSG is an opportunity for the French championship, that clubs must use PSG to grow and that PSG must help other clubs. They (the Parisians) also need to understand what they are doing. Today, Paris FC will arrive with significant liquidity on the market, PSG must not put a spoke in the wheels of Paris FC. […] For the moment, they have not moved up to Ligue 1 yet. They are going to move up to Ligue 1, they are not going to play for the title straight away. If Paris FC ever starts to dream of playing for the title one day against PSG, we will see if PSG will not try to bring Paris FC back down. You know (QSI) are people who love power, who want power and who will hold power until the end… », blurted out Loïc Tanzi in L’Equipe de Greg. It remains to be seen whether the Qataris really want to betray one of their best economic partners.
