This time last year, Jacob Fearnley was ranked 646 in the ATP Rankings.
He had competed in just one Challenger-level event.
But on his Australian Open debut, the world number 92 is through to round three.
“The next Andy Murray” someone in the crowd tells him as he walks around to say thank you to his supporters and sign autographs. “I don’t think so,” Fearnley replies.
Next up? He looks set to face world number two Alexander Zverev.
